I used to sit till 3 am doing everything and perfecting and now i'm no better then the waste on my toilet seat, I wanted to really study for one of my classes but all i did was lie to myself and go to sleep at 10 or 11.
what should I do? What's my problem?
I used to care about all my classes now for some reason it seems as if im only trying in a selected number of classes i some how choose (I don't even know how i choose which one I care about)?
Also I seem to always think that i can do something (i don't want to say what it is) but then when i logically think about it I think its nuts and impossible and I cant achieve it? is it really impossible, or just hard, or am i dilusional?

Aaah..
This has happened to me very recently. What I realized is that, most probably, hormones have a thing to do with it; I guessing you're 12-14 years old? Are you thinking about asking out a girl that you like? As for the question concerning the thing you're trying to get, Henry Ford can say "Whether you're thinking you're right or you're wrong, you're right on this one." I think this easily applies to this. Remember, what you think about the most is what you'll get most often.

2) Sleeping earlier. Yeah, the same exact thing happened to me, where I would do homework from 4p.m. to 2 a.m. most days without backing out, then my mind sort-of went into a haze. What I recommend is letting yourself go to sleep earlier: it's better for you, especially if you're planning on a growth spurt), or taking hour-long naps around five-ish. You'll build up your energy and mental will until you're staying up 'till two when you need to (although it's highly recommended that you go to bed around eleven where possible).

3)You'll probably be really pissed at yourself at those times when your mind is in a haze. My solution (usually): is to eat a good meal, or as least some snacks. Another good idea is to jog outside. It will help relieve a bunch of stress. Although the first time (before you jog one step) your body will be lazy while your mind pushes you onward, after one session of jogging, you'll want to do it for the rest of your life.

No, you're not dillussional, and what you're to do is not incredibly hard, but your mind is adjusting to growing up, and your hormones going wack. Remeber: life should be happy. If you're not, ask yourself why not?

I am exactly the same way. I did so well in High School Top Ten percent of my class and got scholarships in Academics and then I don't know what happened I just started sucking at school. Seriously, I think I just wore myself out. I tried so hard to be the best and then by the time I got to college and I still am in college I just didn't have the energy to do anything. My brain is all washed up. I don't want to stop going to school either because I know that I won't want to go back if I do.

My advice is what I have to remind myself everyday, when I drove downtown and look at the homeless people I realize that I am doing this for myself so that I don't end up like them. Think of the reason you are going to school and keep on reminding yourself that until you graduate.

Maybe just talking to someone about it would help!
Hope all works out well :)

It just sounds like you are burned out with everything including school. Maybe your classes are too easy for you and you felt "whats the point-where is the challenge?". Or just burned out with life in general.
Try making some changes with all parts of your life. Try finding other intrests in and away from school. Find something to motivate you more.
Myself-im an adult but i went back to college around a year ago to finish my engineering degree. At first everything was great, i got great gratdes and all- then towards the end ive started feeling the same. Its not that i dont understand the subjects, its that im just getting burned out and bored with it all and eager to finish things up. It makes it hard to concentrate and study. Luckily this is my last quarter, so im just about finished.

Since you used to care about your classes and it seems that you are saying you used to function reasonably well, I would say that something is causing you more stress than you can handle by yourself. Our bodies and minds are so intertwined that the only way you can get detailed answers is to see a health care professional. Depression is a chemical imbalance and other physical ailments can cause your body to act like depression symptoms. It is frightening to need help for the first time away from home or a comfortable environment. Everyone needs some help sometime. It takes strength to seek help when you need it. When I was in college, I was diagnosed with depression at the student health services. With help I got through college. One of the great lessons of life is to recognize when you need information or assistance and to seek it in time to make a positive difference.

You're sick of school. Seriously, that is what I think. I can so indentify with the lying to myself part of your post. You know you are smart and capable of doing well. Just try to focus harder, go to the library instead of studying in your room, use tricks like that. So many people have attained goals I'd never imagine they could. Don't sell yourself short.

Well you didnt say how old you are or what grade your in. If your in college take a semester off and get your head together. You will find that after a semester off you wont hardly be able to wait for school to start again then you will get your spunk back.

I have experienced this same issue! I am in my second year of college and sometimes you just can focus on your work, and you just get bored with it! I think that you should pick up a hobby that you love doing to help clear your mind (i.e. working out, meditation, yoga, etc.) Whenever you get tired of your work and feel like procrastinating, just work on your hobby and then go back to it... it helped me!

sounds like your mind is distracted, and you are setting yourself up, concetrate on what you really want, get whatever else is going on in your life taken care of, focus on what really matters in your life it will happen if you really want it to

Please see your dr. to see if you are depressed. And, see about going to a counselor, to find out what is going on with you. I wish you the best. Take care.
