i know pms is completly normal before your period. but ever since i've had my period i get these emotional outbursts that surpass the usual pissy moods and insane hunger cravings. i cry constantly i feel anxious and i eat like there's no tomorrow. i cannot control my emotions and i thought it was just bad pms, but i think there's more to it. i'm afraid to tell my mother about it because she will just say i am too emotional. but i really feel like i cannot handle what life throws at me for these few days, and sometimes more and it is driving me crazy and ruining my life.

i had this same exact problem myself. i felt as though i literally could not control how i was feeling and in turn how i was acting. people hated me around the time i was getting my period.
tell your doctor about it. i did and she put me on some medicine (if you're not opposed to doing this) called sarafem.
It is a antidepressant, but as the doctor informed me, its a very, very low dose of the specific drug (im not for sure what it is called) and it definitely helps even out those times before or during your period.
you still have mood swings (where the hormones are going crazy) but is definintly not to extent that i once had. in fact, i felt like it was just a "normal" woman's pms.
dont be scared off that its an anti-depressant either. it definitely doesnt change the way you act or feel to the extreme...you dont feel "drugged up"..
i would at least look into it or ask your doctor....

It's not in your head, it's quit serious. Depression, anxiety, irritability, and mood swings that are not present all the time and improve soon after your period starts. For further information go to wwwwebmd.com. Contact you doctor for a prescription.

Talk to your doctor about it. The next time you go in for a physical, tell your doc about this issue. Even if your mom thinks you're a hypochondriac, your doctor will take you seriously, and can even speak to your mom on your behalf on this issue. Make sure the next time you have your period you write down all the symptoms you have, physical AND emotional; give your doctor, and your mom, the most accurate description possible.
Feel better!

Have you been watching that commercial too? It's PMS to the max in my opinion! Well, the commercial says that birth control pill helps. And I've known woman who tried antidepressants, that seemed to help too. Good luck! Hope you feel better soon, maybe next week?!:)

Don't bother with ur mother, go right to ur Dr. if u really feel this way. If the Dr. thinks so too, then u can tell ur mom on the way to pick up ur prescription. Good Luck!!

Freedom of speech is more important than your hypochondriasis.
