There are two day cares to choose from.. At the first, he would be by himself - At the second, he would be one of four children. All other qualities are similar between the two care providers. What do you think? Is it important that he be around other children,,,or is it more important that he has constant one on one interaction for his first to second year of life? Thanks.

I would recommend putting your baby in the day care with the four children ..... but first I would set up interviews with both day cares, ask looooots of questions, and visit the day cares a few times getting to know the people who run the centre (making sure you bring your baby to meet and interact with the people while he is comfortable with you being there) . If the one with the other children is great, I would enroll him. It is important for children to interact with other children, learn from them, and be around them.

I would go with the one where he is the only child. At this age one on one attention would be good for him and he would get sick less. I watched a baby for over a year while my kids were in school and i spoiled her to death and treated her like my own. I think babies need a lot of one on one attention and they really dont interact with other children until about 2.

well it will help him develop faster at the one with the other kids.. but he will get more attetion at the first and probably feel more 'important'. Neither is wrong. When he is in school he will develop so fast you wont' believe it. I would try to get him with other kids at least once every week or two, but daily interaction is not necessary

most schools now a days believe its a good thing to put ur child in a day care, play group etc.. so they are used to being around other children. They learn to interact better, share, communicate etc.. So in my opinion i think it would be a better idea for you to put him with other children..

If you don't know the people providing the care, I would go to the one with the othe kids. This way you can talk to the other parents.
