I am planting a garden, and being a total anime addict, I'd love to put flowers found in anime in it. Can you think of flowers that played a key part in an anime (not necessarily the whole series, but an episode or scene?). Two specifically I'd like names for would be the flowering bush or tree in the Rurouni Kenshin (Samurai X) OAV - Trust & Betrayal and the plant that the Lunar Flower in Wolf's Rain was modeled after. Those two I found once, but I've forgotten what they were . . . But I will take any you can think of. Thanks!

Sunflowers in Samurai Champloo. Mugen and Jinn basically make a deal with Fuu for saving their lives to look for the samurai who smells of sunflowers (basically the whole story is centered around that). And sorry, I'm not sure about the flowers in Wolfs' rain or in Samurai X. ^.^'
O and in Naruto.. a white daffodil. A flower that Sakura wanted to get Rock Lee and Sasuke after they were both injured in the preliminaries. The white daffodils represented something about endurance even through the winter. O and something about a cosmos flower in a sakura and ino seen.. *furiously scratches head* I'm trying to remember more. but i can't. aghh. i love flowers... i love anime... there are so many scenes where they use some kind of plant to represent something..

O.. and how about sakura blossoms.. yea? it's used throughout so many animes. And like so many people have the name Sakura, too. But then that's a tree you'd be planting. just giving any thing i can think of.

They never did specify the type of flowers but in Fushigi Yuugi, Tamahome was supposed to meet Miaka in a garden outside the Kutou palace. The garden was described as having a giant tree surrounded by sweet smelling flowers

Revolutionary Girl Utena also feature roses. After all, Anthy is the Rose Bride.

Or if you want to go funny, Sailor Moon did have the Doom Tree *lol*

I can think of two relevant flowers in anime.

(1). Red Geraniums: in the anime/manga "Trigun" Rem tells Vash that Red Geraniums stand for courage and determination it is even suggested that the reason Vash chooses to wear his iconic red coat is because it is the color of Rem's favorite flower, red geranium flower petals also make an appearance in the anime's opening.

(2). Hydrangea: in the anime/manga Sankarea the hydrangea flower play's a pivotal role in the story, the hydrangea is the key ingredient In the resurrection potion, and Rea has to eat the poisonous leaves of the plant on a daily basis in order to slow her decomposition, Hydrangeas are featured in the anime's opening and are in the background throughout the show.

And of course there's always roses and cherry blossoms which appear in countless anime.
