Instead of doing my work to the best of my ability, always keeping myself motivated, focusing on my future, all four years of my high school, I chose to chase love, try to have fun and fit in, cared about my looks, and always searched for a best friend. Guess what? I am left with empty hands; I have no friends (I was betrayed by all and couldn't find any I could actually trust), I didn't have fun like I had hoped, and I didn't find a good boyfriend to experience amazing love with.. I was stupid to think about my ex for all these years where i could have used that time for my future and did something for me.

Oh, all the wasted years...how sad I am now!!
I procrastinated to apply to colleges, and the ones I did didn't accept me, the one's I want to get into don't want me, the ones I don't want are iffy and my final choice is a community college. Pity me pity me!!

All I have achieve so far is nothing. Decent high school days ( no good memories) and not a future I was hoping..

My dear, do not give up hope. Stop pitying yourself, learn from your mistakes and strive to do better. If a community college is all you can get in right now, then do it. Get the best grades you can and when you apply to another college, they will see your potential and you will get accepted. You are still young and have a lifetime ahead of you. You have to change your attitude and make up your mind that you will do good in college and get great grades. Find what you want for a career, go for it and work hard. It's never to late. I went to college when I had 4 children. I graduated from nursing school and went on to another college where I graduated Alpha Beta Kappa. You can do it. You are not the first one to do what you did in high school. When you get that career you want, you will have the insight to tell your own children not to make the mistakes you did. Go to the community college, get your start there, and go on. You sound very intelligent. and I know in my heart you will do great things. Good luck, and God Bless you in your endeavors

First, stop berating yourself! Yes, you could (and perhaps should!) have done things differently, but you didn't! Start from that point. It sounds as if you've thought about all this and realize your mistakes. But what's past you cannot change, and just must learn from it.

Try to leave all that behind and go on from here. Your future still is waiting for you and you have the power and wisdom to make it a good one! You have an opportunity to change your ways and to not repeat the mistakes you feel you've made.

Wipe the slate clean, suck it up, take a deep breath, don't concentrate on all that you didn't do, or the things you wish you hadn't done. You certainly seem to know what you didn't do right; that's something. Some people make all kinds of excuses instead.

Take it from here and create a great future.

Stop feeling sorry for yourself. You made mistakes, learn to deal with them and LEARN from them.

There is no future that you want that you can not obtain. It will take a lot of effort and work on your part. Since you did not get into the college of your choice take an alternative route.

Start out with a junior college taking preparatory courses need to gain the education you want. As you proceed you can move onto a formal college.

You may have to work your way through, but, the end result will be really worth it and the pride and self worth you attain thru these experiences will enhance your life tremendously.

Do not fall into the party scene. Remember your previous experience in that area.

I have confidence that you can attain a wonderful end result.

Remember to learn to like yourself. Baby steps work wonders.

You'll only be stupid if you keep dwelling on the past and not looking to the future. Everyone makes mistakes, and stupity only comes if you don't learn from them.
You know the old saying; " If all else fails, TRY, TRY AGAIN!"
It's never too late to accomplish what you truly desire.
A woman was 65 years old when she graduated as a doctor. Her lifelong dream. I don't think she regrets many things in her life that she had to do, before she could follow her dreams.

A bad high school experience is not the end of the world. And believe me, going to community college is one of the best choices you can make...you will save tons of money and get the classes out of the way that will be guaranteed to be harder at a four year university.
You will also meet tons of people at college (community or not) and the people in college obviously have goals (their going to college aren't they?) and are more mature than the people who you didn't get along with in high school.
Keep your head up...set some goals...and chase your dreams.

Indeed, there were times we felt bitter and disappointed but such is life, time flies or "Time and tide wait for no man", therefore, I think, this is part of your life experiences. It's no use blaming oneself all the time, everyone has passed his/her sufferings and from such lessons they are valuable for us to learn to be tougher, wiser and doing things better than we had done something like that before. Just don't think or talk about that past, use it as some good and great reminders so that they will keep you going and living as happily as can be. Take care, the future is waiting for you, just take action now.

Wow! it seems you have really taken this "down" time to reflect -let it out and move on!
Guess what?? you are going to go through the same crap many more times in your life! So lucky you learned how to deal w/ it early. Keep going forward w/ your life dear. There is lot's more ahead. But next time the wolves jump out from the woods to trip you on your way...you've seen their kind before! You're ready for the lions & tigers & bears!!
What helps me through disappointment: is to promise yourself that YOU won't be like those "friends" that failed you! Friends are priceless aren't they?? So you be the best friend you can be.

Your question: how could I be so stupid?
My answer: what does it matter, as long as you are smart enough not to do it again?

Your past is past. Your future is ahead. Community college is better than no college...go shine, then transfer if you want/need. Break up your pity party!

Just remember the words of Frank Zappa > "High school isn't a time or place; Its a state of mind." Now clear your mind and apply yourself to the rest of your life, and think of how much you will enjoy your 10 year reunion
