i have 2 hard drives...both with windows xp installed in them.....but when i take the smaller drive out...it says it cant detect my bigger drive....any suggestions?

Perhaps the jumper on the bigger drive is set to slave?

If it is, set it to master and see what happens. Also remember to set your BIOS to auto detect the drives rather than setting them to specific settings.

Also, after checking the jumper and bios, maybe the drive doesn't have an "active" partition? It must have an active partition in order to boot.

Its proububly just the way they are configured on the IDE cable--(master, slave, CS)....try setting them both on CS- cable select.
