Most doctors want you to go to the hospital when they are 10 minutes apart because your water could break and you could immediately go into labor. so to be on the safe side I would call my doctor.
GOOD LUCK

You might want to consider calling the hospital to let them know how far apart your contractions are so that they have your chart available when you come in. 38 weeks is fine for delivery and ten minutes apart could change pretty fast since you have already had a child. I suggest you have someone ready to take you at any time and if your water hasn't broken yet, then make sure to sit on a towel. It could break any time. Mine broken right when I walked out the door to leave for the hospital. If your water breaks, then you need to leave quickly for the hospital. If you are more than 20 minutes away, then you really should consider leaving soon. This way you are on your way. It couldn't hurt to be there a little early and have the nurses around just in case things go fast. Wish you a quick and easy delivery. Congrats!

Your water doesn't always break on it's own. Depends, how far are you from the hospital? Do you have someone to drive you there? Call your Dr. or the hospital L&D and ask them if you should come in. You might be dialated quite a bit and you could progress faster since this is your second child. Hope that things go well for you!!

When they get closer and are lasting longer doctors normally will tell you to wait until then. I called the delivery room when I was feeling contractions 7 minutes apart lasting 30 second and they told me it was best for me to wait at home. I didn't listen and went to the delivery room and delivered 12 hours later. I went so soon because I really was in so much pain and wanted an epidural. When I went I was only 1 cm (haha) they told me they would wait one hour and if I wasn't 3 cm I would go home. An hour later I was almost 4 so I got to stay. Call your doctor, delivery room, or midwife and tell them everything. If you feel ready GO people really do have babies at home alone or in the car ect. Your second child normally comes faster.
Good luck! Just call whomever they will give you the best advice and go when you are ready!

It's usually said to wait until your contractions are a bit closer but since it is your second child, you could be stalled at one point for hours and then BAM the kiddo is out..lol. Call your OB and let them know what you're feeling, how far apart they are and when they started. They will tell you how long they think you should wait before going in. Good luck and congrats!

what did your Dr say. if you haven't call them you should. and it depends on the length of your first labor and how far it is to the hospital.
