Sounds like your mass air flow sensor isn't plugged in. The car will still usually run on a default setting, but it won't go very well, emissions will be high, and it'll never pass inspection. This sensor (often located just behind the air filter) needs to be incorporated into your ram intake. Unfortunately, nearly all those intake kits require some customization to make them work properly - but they don't like to tell you that.

sounds like you unplugged the mass air flow sensor. there are several sensors on you car that gather information on how your car is running (air temp, oil temp and pressure, fuel mixture, etc) and they send information back to your PCM (powertrain control module) or main computer. This main computer knows what measurements are acceptable. If any of these parameters are out of range or there is not a signal from one of the sensors it will illuminate the check engine light. The PCM also uses the information and sends signals to other components to make the car run. as long as you want your customized air intake kit you will have to put up with the light. your air intake kit is probably affecting your emissions (bad stuff coming out of the tailpipe) and affecting your gas mileage. put some black electrical tape on your dash over the light so it doesnt bother you or take off that intake kit and plug your mass air flow sensor back in.
you may still have to have the code cleared to turn off the light if you return it to normal.

You cannot modify, remove, or alter the function of anything that can effect your car's exhaust emissions. You can go to a Honda shop or smog station and ask for a diagnostics readout. The CHECK engine light must be operating correctly to pass a smog check. The smog check should give you a Fault Code which would indicate that something is wrong with the air filter. The most frequently seen Fault Code is the one for a missing or leaking gas cap.

Check your throttle position sensor too. But this can be an issue w/ your plug. Do some research this plug you speak of may be a MAF or Mass Air Flow sensor. Do some research first and call the company who made the intake, but you may need to drill a hole and place that plug in there like on the OEM (Original Equipment Manufactured).

sometime they go off just because it need tune up. unhook the battery cable for 5 to 10 seconds. see it that will reset it. if not take it to Auto Zone and put it on a device and it will read a code and they will tell you. Take that information to the shop or dealer ship and get it fixed

its on because u unhooked the iat sensor...u need that to help your computer determin the right amount of fuel to add into your cylinders...drill a hole in the new intake and put that iat sensor in your new intake then....plug it up and get autozone to clear your light

When you fix whatever it is that had the check engine light come on in the first place, u then have to go to the dealer to have that light reset to turn it off. That happened to me once, and of course it cost you to do that.

Cause maybe you are on a reservation?
no really, take it in and have it hooked up to a computer, it will display the fault code, it could be something as minor as a gas cap not closed properly. It happened to my better half.
Peace
