I thought I knew the answer but now I've gotten different answers from credible people. Do you think it's the first day of or the first day after your period?

Good, I thought it was 1st day of.... Never really mattered before but I just got the NuvaRing and the instructions and OBGYN just said to start it 1st day of cycle and I didn't think to ask this question at the time. Birth control is not something I want to mess up right now!

Any crediible person would be giving you the correct answer, every time. You start counting your cycle with the first day of your period. How and why would you do otherwise, when that's the only distinctive day of your cycle?

the first day of a menstrual cycle is the first day you have your period. meaning the first day you have bleeding.
