We've gotten rather soft. Bush has tried to be strong in
protecting the citizens of this country, but you see where
it has gotten him. So people apparently don't want anyone
protecting them (that is until we have something bigger
than 911 happen, and then we'll see what happens). Thank
goodness we do have the Homeland Security that is doing
a great job stopping some planned attacks (but the media
won't tell you about that, but I know for sure).

We don't need more laws. We need to enforce the laws we have. The Federal government has all the power it needs to secure the borders. It just needs to have the will to do it. Its already against the law for foreign nationals to enter the country without permission. We just need to enforce the law. That is the job of the executive branch and they are not getting it done.

It's the typical battle between liberal and conservative causing nothing to get done. Every time the conservatives try to do something to protect us the liberals whine and complain about it and eventually take it to court. Right now the conservatives are keeping their heads down because the liberals have the upper hand for now. It will swing back in 3-5 years as we are more and more over-run by criminals and illegal aliens. People will get sick of it again.

Our politicians are not concerned about protecting their country as much as they are protecting their jobs. They are afraid that if they are seen as enforcers of any law, then the press will demonize them one way or another, which history clearly shows is true. It's all about the polls and re-elections!

As much as I may agree with you, I came to realize long ago that some of our politicians, now elected officials of our country, may know a bit more than you and me, so, I do a bit of trusting, no matter what the media tries to spill out to disturb us. God Bless you.
