if a skydiver's parachute fails to open, could falling on a big balloon ( hot air, weather, "Hindenburg :) ") save him or her from fatality. ( assuming that one is conveniently there)

As this is a question in regards to physics, it would depend on certain variables.
Weight and velocity of said parachutist. Remembering that if he was dragging an unopened chute to factor in its drag coefficient.
Altitude. Temperature of both outside air and inner balloon air.
Material density and construction (seems, flaps, shape, size, etc.) Weather, is ship ascending or descending or in stable flight.

There is much to be considered. But in all probability, if he has reached his maximum velocity before impact (in this case with a hot air balloon) he would simply rip through the nylon casement, possibly pulling it inside out, and take it and its occupants with him.

That's an interesting question. the only sure think is if the sky diver fell onto a hot air balloon and it did save his life - he'd have to be the luckiest guy that ever lived.
I suspect that if the balloon was fully inflated, still on the ground and the propane blow torch was off - it might just work, otherwise, the diver and the balloon might be headed down.

Well, assuming that the not-exactly-parachutist didn't immediately bounce off, then... yes, at least for a bit.

Would the added weight and form of a not-parachutist deforming the balloon displace enough hot air so that the not-parachutist, balloon, and the until-that-monent-balloonist(s) plummet? ...So as to be only a temporary reprieve for the not-parachutist, and a horrible, horrible problem for the balloonists.

yes, but its not guaranteed, cuz u can bouce of the balloon. and just keep on falling to the ground
