If you believe in something enough it becomes you. Then there are no negative aspects...

I have none. I am an atheist. The negative aspects are that people who hear it for the first time are shocked and keep going on about how there is a god and so on and so forth. My belief is that the human race has always 'invented' a higher power - a superior power - to comfort this painful existence. Look at the Ancient Greeks: they had the twelve Olympians. The Muslims have Allah, the Christians have God (and the Holy spirit and Jesus). Everyone always wanted something - someone - to believe in (and of course, priests wouldn't have a job if they didn't).
I mean, come on, let's stop fooling ourselves: who would not feel lonely if he/she did not have a god to pray to? And besides, though religions differ, they are the same. I mean, take a look at the Koran and the Bible; are not the five pillars of the Koran similar to the ten 'laws' of the Bible?

my religion is Unitarian Universalist,,,,, i guess it could be summed up as a humanist religion,,,,,, some even call it a non-religion,,,,,, it emphasizes the dignity and worth of all,,,,, and our interconnectedness with everything on earth,,,,, and that each person discovers/develops their own spiritual truth, there is not just one way to spirituality or God,

i personally believe in Jesus,,,, but i dont think everyone has to,,,,,,,,, i feel the spirit is more important then any religion you practice

if you come to my church,,,,,,you might observe a Native ceremony,,,,, a pagan one,,,,, a program learning about another religion , whether Jewish or Christian or something else,,,,,,, or you might participate in a rock or flower ceremony
you will see all races,,, young and old,,, gays and straight,,,,, its really total acceptance ,,,,,with no one telling you what THE TRUTH is,, or how the best way to find it is
you can bring beer or wine to gatherings, lol

as to negative,,,,,, if you need someone to lay it all out for you,,,,, tell you how/what it is,,,if you need a set religion without any questions,,, a do this and this will happen,,, then you will not find that,,,, you will also encounter the rolling of eyes if you tell someone you belong to this religion,,,,,, or else some will tell you that you are not "saved"
i have no need to convert you, i am sure you will be just fine with whatever faith you choose, but would welcome you if you joined

Mine isn't a religion but it will sound that way.
(Please read it even though it is long))
Here it is:

God doesn't exist and neither does Heaven. Heaven is an existence possible in the future when technology gives us the abilities of Gods and morality gives us the peace to live with no suffer. If humanity reaches 'the Omega point' we will have enough technology to bring anyone back from the dead and we will devolop ways to educate even people like Hitler to be peaceful. If humanity ever reaches the Omega point you will live in heaven forever.

There golden rule is truth. I am not a prophet or inventor so I can not say how to get to the omega point; but if embrace and spread truth no matter how ugly and let logic and reason guide us over all else we will grow.

You must live your life and encourage other to think this way:
-Embrace technology and all things that man can use as a tool; we may not be mature enough for it now, but prehaps soon
-The outcome out weighs the cost and don't loose site of the vision: this is the main contradiction, the path to heaven has many steps and we must take everyone no matter what the cost, but not so that when we get there we lose our sympathy and humanity.
-Use logic instead and reason to decide things, not feelings and prejudices, also consider the limits of a human when doing this.
-Spread truth, be brutally honest, only hold back information when it would not be worth them knowing it.
-Don't let your emotions corrupt your judgment
-Be accepting and always willing to change your mind (yes you should be ready to give up this belief if you find a better one) we don't know how will arrive at the Omega point, so everything is an option.
-Be willing to suffer and even die for what you believe in you probably will not die fighting for what you beleive in, but to have such strong faith that you will means you are too devoted to be swayed by evils and passions.
-Remember that an individual working for progress can do very little, but an individual working for nothing will do great damage. And an individual working against progress will cause a catastrophe. Many things you do not because they help, but because not doing anything is horrible
-Help others grow so we can get there
-This is for everyone even those that don't see it, but some people may need to be excluded for the betterment of progress (ex: hitler) until we can cure them of their immoralities
-Become someone people can beleive and trust; it's good for progress
-Again I can not tell you exactly what to do; I am not a prophet, you must find that for yourself.
-Saying you don't need to do anything is counter productive you decrease the chance (even by a small amount) of us getting there, we must all desire success for our children and their children or NO ONE (chain reaction/sheep affect) will get everyone done
-Remember we may never get there, but once you lose hope you lose everything. If there are other beings in the universe that think like us though, then if they reach the Omega point they will be sympathetic enough to want to give virtue and paradise to other species.

PROS
*This belief is very costumizable, and doesn't have a since of conformity, there are almost no absolutes and can be combined with others
*You get to feel like your life is meant for something bigger and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
*If you are a calm thinking person, you already do half the things and the rest should fit well
CONS
*It may be hard and confining for someone who is 'free spirited'
*People don't like brutal honest
*Maybe no species will reach the Omega point or technology to revive people with no bodily remains may be impossible
*You will take life a little more seriously, which I hear is not blindly having fun.

You were not just a fortuitous accident; you were planned over more than generations because you are wanted, and may be led to a certain mate and have a certain son with certain talents and abilities and over generations your strain improves. Now you are like an egg, an embryo ...part of who you are is what is planned for you 500 yrs off, 1000 yrs off..Life is so comparatively simple now that what's part of 4 or 5 hundred yrs from now for you would surprise you but you are preparing. Your place now is temporary; there are bigger better places, infinitely complex and beyond your present comprehension. It is not simple; There are struggles, you can't take ease and success for granted; there are contrary forces that can take every bit of struggle you can muster to surmount. What I am telling you is a drop in a bucket. Check out a book titled Oahspe

The Jewish relgion try their utmost to deter people to convert. As long as you keep the 7 commandments that were given to the gentile people you have fullfiled your purpose of being born.

So I won't try to convince you, just keep the 7 commandments, and you will have a share in the world to come.

If you want to know what the 7 commandments are for the gentiles then you can look it up on your search engine.

You say this is a game, but I am sure you heard the expression. "In every joke there is some truth" So what are you looking for?

Every religion has its beauties, but every religion also has its flaws for each is a human construction and so is limited. Whether you join a religion is not the most important, truth-sighted question I believe. That would be discovering who you are fundamentally. Religion can be a useful tool, but can also be just another illusion. Try to unveil the world of illusions and see for yourself the ultimate reality...it's actually a pretty funny one I'd imagine...haha! :)

Why do you feel you need a religion/set of beliefs?

Use your common sense and just get on with your life!

You must know the difference between right and wrong and the best way to treat others is how you would hope to be treated!

Religion promotes intolerance and inhibits our ability to think for ourselves and to accept that we are responsible for our own actions.

Wake up! Stop wasting your life trying to find something that you will never find and just get on with it!!

You can start a war just by asking a question on yahoo q/n? That's powerful stuff.
First, I think I would introduce you to God Almighty
2) talk softly to you about Salvation, Grace, etc etc
3) ask about your present beliefs
4) Suggest some readings...
5) Share points of views with you....
6) go to your church
7) go to your home for Sunday dinner
8) next Sunday go to your church again
WAIT A SECOND!!!! I'm supposed to be converting you -- you smooth talker! Who converted whom?
