When I asked for a copy of my medical records, my Miami Florida medical clinic said I had to pay $60. The records contained only 3 pages and when I told them that the law said, the provider should charge $1 per page, the clinic said "that is our policy".
I filed a complaint with the state of florida agency that deals with these matters, sent a copy of the receipt and filled the agency questionaire. the agency accepted my complaint as properly filed. After several weeks they sent me a letter saying simply that the provider had not violated the law. Nothing further.
With government agencies like this how can the american people trust and respect the government?

They can't hold your records. You have a right to view them but they can charge you for copies. Ask them if they charge to fax them... a lot of places don't.
