That is nonsense.

Instead we saw the opposite of the slavery condition. Millions of dollars were spent aiding Katrina victims and most of it went to poor african american victims.

The fact that the U.S. federal government didn't react quickly enough in some people's opinion and made lots of mistakes in a difficult situation where any entity would make lots of mistakes is hardly an indication of anyone "not being treated like a human".

In fact, the government and private outreach was fairly quick and very generous. It was a big big mess. I was there. It was a big hurricane and lots of New Orleans went underwater.

No. I am not saying that racism is not alive and well in America but Katrina was not about Racism. There are many factors involved in that disaster. 1.People were told to leave, all people not just white. The problem was many who were poorest did not have a way out, which unfortunately were mostly black. Which leads to 2nd point. Nagen The mayor was responsible for not using the buses that were parked doing nothing to get his people out. Then there is the governor who failed to ask for help in a timely manner and then there is the federal government who failed act effectively once the asinine Governor finally asked for help. On the federal level heads rolled and people lost their job. But the mayor and governor put so much spin on what happened that they managed to keep theirs. They should have all lost their jobs. It was not about racism it was about stupidity.

The city of New Orleans was responsible for the abhorrent treatment of the people you are referring to. You can try to pin it on the President but history of the incident has shown that Federal money was misspent by local officials for years that may have protected those people that were already living in some of the worst poverty in the nation before the Federal Govt became involved.

Evidence also proved that the evacuation of New Orleans was mismanaged on a local level including violating their own disaster plan.

It was the most successful disater resuce in history. It was a giant hurricane remember? Besides, white people died disproportionately MORE than blacks and actually made up more than half (58%) of the deaths. Alot of this had to do with the fact that the areas worst hit were places where elderly lived, often in nursing homes.

There's so such thing a racist hurricane. If you think the problem was a slow resuce, then look to the first responders in government. In this case, it would be Nagin and he's black.

to get back on their feet, without using the excuse 2 years, not

and murder. Here in Texas, we are still suffering the crime wave

You need some truth. New Orleans and Louisiana have been under Democratic control for 50yrs. You think they might have put some thought into what would happen if a massive hurricane hit!!

Nobody forced you to live in a city that is lower than the ocean water surrounding it. Nobody forced you to elect a mayor who ignored warnings to evacuate. Nobody forced you to elect a congressman who was more interested in using a military helicopter to rescue his personal stash of bribe money than pulling you off your roof.

And no one forced you to go back.
