My doctor listened to the heartbeat a few days ago. It was loud. Then he told me in a month, he will schedule me for an ultrasound. Then he said, from their I will find out whether if I'm a boy or girl (if the baby cooperates), then he said and we will also find out if you are having twins or multiples. I was surprise he said cause, wouldn't he able to tell from listening to the heartbeat? Please, any twin mothers answer my question. Did any of you listen to the heartbeat and only heard one and then ultrasound confirmed you are carrying more than one???????

Well definitely the ultrasound would confirm if you are having twins are not. I am currently 12 weeks pregnant with twins and they didn't even listen for a heartbeat yet.

I have twins, they are 3 now. I did not found out I was having twins until I was about 4 months a long. Big Surprise!

I'm not a mother of twins but with my current pregnancy my doctor told me the same thing. I wouldn't put to much into it if the doctor didn't hear more than one heart beat. They're just making sure.

There hearts might be beating in unison or one baby might be too far in the back to pick up the beat. Ultrasound will confirm. No point guessing.
