A financial advisor with her own show and a lot of books. (She's helped me and my wife out a few times, without knowing it.) She talked publicly about how not being able to marry is going to cost her and her partner of seven years a lot of money.

What do y'all think of this?

I was very surprised! Anyway, i think it´s cool that she can also talk about the financial aspect of gay marriages and show that the fact that it´s been legalized in some states doesn´t mean all issues have been thought of.

I was pretty suprised that Suze Orman came out. I've actually enjoyed reading her articles on yahoo finance and her tv show. I have a degree in finance and money issues interest me.

I don't think of her any differently now that she came out of course. She is still a financial guru and will still be well respected in my book. In this day and age, Americans need more help than ever with their personal finances, so keep it up Suze.

I am always glad when people come out... but I have to question her comments about the money. I mean, I am not worth nearly what she is, and my lawyer was able to find smart ways for my partner and I to protect each other's money.

i think its a great step forward for the lgbtqi community, but somehow i personally feel its not enough. i'm not asking her to fly out of the closet, but if she's going to volunteer that kind of personal information, she needs to realize she's doing it on an international platform and that volunteering that type of information is a major deal for so many people and for so many reasons. maybe i'm blowing it out of proportion but yeah...i think its great, but somehow, not enough. nonetheless, rock on suze orman!

Thank you, Suze.
A lot of the women I told about it this Sunday had not heard about it. They were really pleasantly surprised.
I hope it will encourage more public figures to come out.
