I'm not going to get too excited about this win. It's a big win, but it's just one game. Every team have a clunker once in a while, and Toronto just had theirs.
They are the best team in the East. But they need to have Afinogenov and Drury heal and get back up to speed before the playoffs. I also need to see them clinch home-ice advantage in the playoffs, or at least the #1 seed in the East. And if Zubrus can add some grit to this team, then I'll call them scary good.
They are a small team and they'll probably have to deal with a couple of injuries. I like the fact that they are dealing with injuries now and still winning games. They won't have to deal with 7 injuries in the playoffs. That just doesn't happen normally, I don't care how fragile or small you are, it's just not normal to have 7 injuries. A lot of that comes down to dumb luck.
The acquisition of Zubrus will help them bigtime, especially in the playoffs.

Being a huge sabres fan..they are good, but you got to remember...one ur play a crappy team like Toronto...and theyve played 3 games in the last 4 days...so watching the game...obviously that played a BIG ROLE on that big win for buffalo. And the quote.. "these guys are good. scary good" is just so annoying. you cant be scary! good when you have other teams just as good as you.

The Sabres are one of the elite teams this year and have an excellent chance to win the cup. But I have to disagree with you a little bit....not all their stars were out. Miller is the key to their Cup run, his history says he is up to the task of leading his team.He tended the net quite nicely tonight like usual.

It was against toronto, but yes I think the Sabres have the best chance in the East to win the cup. But they will have to deal with the underdog Minnesota Wild come May.

Better hope Miller doesn't go down because Conklin is not going to get the job done.
Shipping off Biron for a 2nd rounder? They could have used the insurance, even if Biron walked away this summer. It's a cup run after all, right?

Sabres look real good. I see only Martin Brodeur between them and the finals. Mr Miller will have to duel arguably hockey's best goalie ever.

I wouldn't brag about beating Toronto. (who also has a depleated lineup ... but just plain suck)
Wait for the next game. But the Sabres are still doing pretty well with injuries.

If they could do that to New Jersey then I would call them "Scary good". Beating Toronto isn't that big a deal, but it was still a pretty sound thumping.
