Yes, they should. For all the reasons you gave They have come here because they WANT to be here, the rest of us were just born here without making that informed choice. If someone is choosing this country over any other and has all the other qualifications, and gets him (or her)self elected, then there should be no problem with that. If someone has been a citizen for 20 years or more, they are definitely american. I would love to see someone like Arnold Schwartzenegger be allowed to run, if he chose to.

No, the constitution was written the way it was for a purpose, in order for naturalized citizens to be elected president they would have to change what is a fine document that has proved itself to be relevant even to this day some 230 years later. Leave it alone and never change it because when you do it weakens it.

The President of the United States swears to protect and defend the Constitution from all enemies, foreign and domestic. Now, how, if he swears that, can the President of the United States be a naturalized citizen? What do I think? Read the Constitution and realize what the President's job is. God Bless you.

Though you points are valid I do think that naturalized immigrants should not be able to be elected president. I do not believe in a living constitution and I am a believer of originalism. A person that wants to be president of the United States of America just has to be born in the US

A president needs to be able to make hard decisions regarding any foreign country, and if they're from the country in question there will be split loyalties.

I really don't think so. Running for any kind of election is a given right, a privilege for USA born citizens.

yes they should be able to become anything they want and are qualified to do.
america started off with everyone being an immigrant.
there is no logical basis to exclude a naturalised citizen.
it is as unacceptable to exclude women ,african americans,or any one else

Not having been raised in this country I would doubt they would have sufficient insight to the needs of the American people, unless they arrived here in early childhood. Then it would be OK.
