I have left a few questions on here about my emotionally disturbed piggies. Generally they don't want anything to do with me unless it is food. When I pick them up, of course they run from me, and when I do have them, they seem so uninterested. I pick them up and give the hugs and kisses anyway, because I feel like it has to make them feel a little bit loved. Do you think they feel loved when I pet them and hold them, or do you think they are just annoyed? The only bit of satisfaction that I get is that when I pick one up and leave the room with him for a little while, when I come back empty handed to get the other one, that one will let me pick him up. Almost as if it is nosy and wants to see where the other one went...but I have to be gone a long time in order for that to happen. Other than that, I have know idea if they are happy or feel loved. They used to popcorn when I cleaned their cage, but not anymore. (I used to clean it a whole lot,, cuz I enjoyed seeing them happy.)

Also, I am not even sure if they like each other. They argue all day long, but when I put them on the floor so they can run around, they ussually just stand next to each other...and continue to bother one another. I have never heard them purr, but I can tell when they are arguing...it's funny to me now, lol. My piggies remind me of stubborn old men!

Guinea Pigs always seem uninterested in us humans and it is normal for them to run when you come to pick them up as they don't really care to be pick up out of their safe spot and that is what their cage is to them.

I wouldn't worry, I think they know you love them and it sounds like you are showing them all the love in the world. Guinea Pigs like to be held, petted and talked to. Mine sure do, sometimes my older one doesn't talk to me when I hold her, but that is fine by me I am still going to hold her, pet her, and talk to her even if she wants to join in or not.

So I think they know you love them and I don't think they are annoyed by being held and petted one bit.

My girls argue sometimes with each other, but they get along most of the time. I think it is just cause there is a 2 year gap between them that they argue. So it is normal for them to argue, just as long as they are getting along more then arguing. If they are arguing more then getting along you may want to split them up, or one of them could get hurt.

Good Luck to you.

That is the exact same thing that my piggies do!!! All of that is the same as mine. I think they feel loved. My piggies stopped popcorning, too. That may be because they are getting old, but I think that since you feed them and love them, they will love you back.

I had a Guinea Pig and he seemed pretty content in his cage. Whenever someone took him out of the cage, he just seemed kind of shell shocked and really uncomfortable.

guinea pigs are stressed easily, If your pigs were not socialized from the beginnning then will be skittish.you need to spend alot of time holding them. most small animals like guinea pigs and rabbits generally do not like to be held, but you can get them use to it by doing it everyday.

I'm sure they love you don't worry, just remember that every pig has it's own personality. I don't think they hate each other if they did they would be fighting.
