Should the UN's obligation to protect human rights be valued over its oblig. to respect national sovereignty?

This is a very hard question to answer but i would say that the UN's obligation to protect human rights trumps its obligation to respect national sovereignty. People might disagree but imagine the UN existed in 1939 while hitler was massacring Jews. The UN would need to save the Jews that were dying so yes they should of gone in. Now the accusations upon the state has to justified and backed up by UN States and facts.
