The Tennessee Center for Policy Research, an independent, nonprofit and nonpartisan research organization, issued a press release late Monday:Gore’s mansion, [20-room, eight-bathroom] located in the posh Belle Meade area of Nashville, consumes more electricity every month than the average American household uses in an entire year, according to the Nashville Electric Service
In his documentary, he tells Americans to conserve energy by reducing electricity consumption at home. The average household in America consumes 10,656 kilowatt-hours (kWh) per year, according to the Department of Energy. In 2006, Gore devoured nearly 221,000 kWh—more than 20 times the national average.

Last August alone, Gore burned through 22,619 kWh—guzzling more than twice the electricity in one month than an average American family uses in an entire year. As a result of his energy consumption, Gore’s average monthly electric bill topped $1,359.
Since the release of An Inconvenient Truth, Gore’s energy consumption has increased from an average of 16,200 kWh per month in 2005, to 18,400 kWh per month in 2006.

Gore’s extravagant energy use does not stop at his electric bill. Natural gas bills for Gore’s mansion and guest house averaged $1,080 per month last year.

“As the spokesman of choice for the global warming movement, Al Gore has to be willing to walk to walk, not just talk the talk, when it comes to home energy use,” said Tennessee Center for Policy Research President Drew Johnson.
In total, Gore paid nearly $30,000 in combined electricity and natural gas bills for his Nashville estate in 2006.

I'm not defending him or them. There may be no accountablity within their "ideology." I believe these "liberal elitists" deserve to be exposed for what they are doing. If they want more SUPPORT for their cause they got to set an example

However, his spokeperson said that he is trying to do something from this source: http://www.myfoxdc.com/myfox/pages/News/Detail?contentId=2514252&version=3&locale=EN-US&layoutCode=TSTY&pageId=3.11.1. Yes, Al Gore drives a Lexus SUV hybrid, replaced his incandescent bulbs with fluorescent, installed energy efficient windows, plans to install solar panels on his roof, and works at HOME, so he can use his car even less. He has set up an investment firm called Generation Investment Management where he gathers investment money and invests them to companies for REWABLE energy. The great thing is he is at least getting a TASTE for the working world unlike being in the non-real world of Washington for a quarter century. So, Al Gore is trying, at least.

However, any liberal elitist who say we need to cut back should be held ACCOUNTABLE for what they do.

Well I was watching a news show last night and a spokesman said that if middle America will cut its energy consumption then it will help greatly. So I guess how it works is those of us who are the working class will be careful what we use so that the rich can use more with their private jets. Also we should not use that energy but we would be the ones building their mansions and producing their jet fuel and SUV's

I don't think its very hard to see that Al Gore has his problems, but at the same time, I don't really see the left backing him much.

You will notice that he's NOT running president, at least not yet. Do you have some examples of liberals specifically trying to excuse his actions? The man is interesting, I'd like to know.

If you use common sense, it's not that hard.
Gore says there's a problem that needs addressing, but
he doesn't pretend to have all the answers.

Do you know whom he buys his energy from and what price he pays for it? Perhaps you should look that up before you spew Drudge talking points.
