Next time, have someone grab you a bottle of nail polish remover and pour it over the stuck part.

Have someone remove the doorknob from the door, and go to the emergency room. They have a solvent that will dissolve the super glue, much better and more effectively than nail polish remover. But I think even that stings and hurts like HECK! The best way to remove any body part that's been glued with super glue is to never have to in the first place. Wear gloves, use toothpicks to apply. DON'T touch the stuff. EVER. Hopefully you learned that lesson, if you didn't....you have much bigger problems than getting stuck to something with super glue.

Hi:

Do not feel bad about it. At least you don't glue your hubby to the toilet stool like one woman did, When she went to repair the toilet seat and the excess glue went out of the crack. but the phone rang and she answered it .Then shorty her hubby went to use the toilet and couldn't remove himself from it. With both pants down of course, and she in a panic - Called her nurse friend at the hosptial and she suggested that they try bringing him to the hosptial. After laughing about it for 15 minutes, And you can see he how embarassing that is. There was no way he was going to the hosptial like that. They suggested using Nail polish remover around his legs eventually they were able to free him from it. So that when anytime someone mention "Super glue". He get the willies or the cold sweats over it. It also happen again at a Home Depot Store a while back, that a empolyee was fixing a toilet seat in the store and forget to lock the restroom door and put a "out of order" sign on the toilet seat when a custumor went to use the toilet. He was stuck to it. After about a hour and a half,- They finally freed him and he sued the store for it. They stettled out of court. The empolyee of course, lost his job. The first story was in the Reader's Digest Magazine entitled the "Family Handyman", under " The Great Goofs" section of it

the other one made the newspaper.

Hope this makes you feel better.

The best way to do it with usually available materials is to use acetone (or fingernail polish remover)... keep wetting the area, then begin sawing very gently with a NON-SHARP knife, like a butter knife or even a letter opener). That will release a bit at a time.

The "solvent that will dissolve the super glue" that was mentioned before is a "CA debonder" (or cyanoacrylate debonder ... cyanoacrylate is "instant glue"). You can buy that at a hobby store, if you want (then I guess you'd use it in the same way as the acetone).

Less painful way of removing it? To tell you a less painful way of removing your hand, I'd have to know how you did remove it (which was obviously was painful).
My suggestion would be to not super glue your hand, or any other part of your body for that matter, to anything.
How DID you manage to superglue your hand to a door knob?

I suggest that you use nail polish remover. It loosens the glue. You have to be patient and not tug on it too much. If it's a lot of glue, you can soak the area in nail polish remover. I also heard of people using a lot of peanut butter. Also using hot water works but because you might burn yourself (since the water has to be very hot) I dont recommend this method.

Surgery. There is no simple way to this or a less painful one. That's why it's called super glue, because it's super.
