It depends on the type of palm tree it is. If it's native to the area you may need approval.

A very easy way to get rid of the palms is to put an add in the paper and say "Free palms approx 8-10 tall, remove yourself"
9 times out of 10 it works. Its worth a try, it could save you $$$$$$$

I have had more complex trees like Oak removed for about $500 each and a Monkey tree for $800 due to root removal. Palms are not deep Rooted but are tall so probably somewhere in between. Check with your City Planning office the trees may actually belong to the city although you are responsible for maintenance. Some cities will allow removal only if diseased or damaged by rains or wind and a possible public threat. Contrary to popular belief we suburb dwellers only lease the land our house sits on in many newer developments. If you have an HOA there could be additional headaches. Good Luck!

Now i dont know about your council and if i was you i woulnt ask your property your tree 8-10ft couple laborers should be able to dig em up with a shovel in one day. Good Luck and God Bless
