I would assume as soon as he, the judge and the wife sign the dotted line on the paper. From that moment on, he is no longer a married man.

I don't know about canada..sorry..never lived there...in the states so long as you have a finalized divorce papers.. you can marry the same day.

depending on the terms of the divorce I'd contact an attorney but I believe that once the divorce is finalized you can get married. My dad remarried 2 months after my parents divorce was finalized.

You can get married pretty much as soon as the divorce is final. Just wait for the ink to dry and off you go.

It should be as soon as he gets the divorce papers. He will have to have a copy of them when you go and get your marriage license.
