When you 'dream' that you're floating and can see your body lying in bed and everything in the room, and then you try hard to wake up but you couldn't?

Or, when you're completely awaken but your eyes are still closed (you can hear and understand people talking around you) in a very uncomfortable position but you can't move your body at all?

This happened to me quite often when I was little. Usually when I had friends around like camping or slumber parties.

A sense of floating in your dreams usually indicates that your unconscious is in a calm state. It's also a common sign of pregnancy. But... since you had these dreams when you were younger, I'm going to guess that it was a result of your feeling anxious to the point of having a panic attack. Might even be that you were in an uncomfortable position (sleeping on your back?) and actually stopped breathing for a moment or so. That's my guess...

Paralysis
A very frightening dream is when you're trying to move but find that you just can't; you're paralyzed.
Meaning: This dream may occur as a direct reflection of your immobility during the REM phase of sleep. Still, it may also indicate that you're emotionally paralyzed. You're unable to deal with a problem you've been facing.

When you're trying to wake up, and you can't move, that might be a problem. If you can't wake up, try doing something (in your dream) like jump off a cliff. The shock from the 'fall' will wake you up. The 2nd issue, I don't know what to say. It could be you have a sleeping disorder, or you are a very light sleeper. Have someone move you while you listen to people talk like this. If you can't feel them move you, that could be something bad. But if you feel them move your legs or arm, then you're just a light sleeper. Hope this helps!

the reason why you cannot wake is because your trying to awaken
the wrong body. your spirit is what you controlled at that time. You could hear things because you were not sleep you were simply awake in another state.

I believe SOME dreams do have meanings but sometimes it means time to go to the Doctor. That last part sounds like some type of paralysis or neurological systom of something being wrong.
