don't know canadian law, but someone in the immidiate family needs to step in. like your boyfriend. he's the one in power.
if you can't get help from a lawyer to at least threaten, then he just needs to get the kid and refuse to give her back. but you better have plenty of proof!! i guess your BF doesn't have any custody rights or anything? He has parental rights. So take that to a lawyer and see what can be done. I'm sure you have some sort of family court or something. but if it's anything like hee, you don't want to get them involved.

try and do it on your own

well, if it's true...
addressing the yelling part, There was an interesting episode on Everybody Loves Raymond. A couple came over with their son & the son wouldn't stop jumping up & down on his kid's bed. Raymond asked him over & over nicely to stop. The kid wouldn't listen so he resorted to yelling. The kid's mom walked in at that point & said in a low, calm voice, "Our son doesn't respond to yelling." Well, when the couple with their kid started to leave, they told their child to come along & he wouldn't listen. The mom ended up having to resort to yelling at the kid to come on. They left. Raymond & his wife looked at each other & said, "freaks." (not that the kid needed to be yelled at to make mind but throughout the episode they were comparing parenting & she didn't like that they would raise their voice to their children or hers. She ended up doing it herself, but all throughout the visit she was trying to act like she was perfect & had better parenting skills & techniques.)
Also, some kids are high-spirited from birth. Maybe the parent was soft-spoken but had to resort to talking louder to make the child mind. One would have to have a crystal ball to have seen all that went on behind closed doors from day one. I couldn't just believe by people saying something cuz people these days don't mind lieing to help who they are biased towards.
As far as her child not going to school, here in America there is home-schooling & unschooling. Some people out of jealousy don't like it or because they don't like anyone doing anything different then they do. Intolerance.
Smoking pot is illegal & not good, if she does, & so is slander, malice, libel, false testimony, etc. That type of stuff will some day -reap what's sown.
I've heard of divorces where they try to show the parent unfit after they've taken care of the child for soo long! Interesting that after 6 years one is only becoming concerned. Sounds like it could be cuz they don't want to pay alimony or because some found a new love & don't want to look like the bad guy so they accuse the other parent of stuff so they can look justified at running away with a new, exciting relationship. Some people use kids to hurt the other parent. I hope this isn't happening here.

ummm move to america? sorry cant help ya. does the mother really even care about the kid? if not, see if you two could just work together on custody or something. someone who smokes pot you could say like "the kid is costing you to much money... just give us the custody of her and you wont have to pay money for her anymore...to pay more money for pot."
most people like that care more about buying pot than 6 year old kids.

I don't know how it works in Canada, but I hardly think they'd leave a child in a situation where she is endangered. I'd at least TRY calling social services. Here...you can sometimes find a lawyer who will represent you 'pro-se', or ...free. You may even find a law student at your local university who would represent you just for the practice.

try talking to child welfare and explain the situation there. or maybe talk to his ex, maybe she will give you guys custody of her. and she can be free to do what she wants. but the main point is to get that poor child out of there. and I would do anything to make sure she does, even if you have to spend money. the childs life is more important than money. I wish you two all the luck. and I hope you get custody of her.

There has to be some organization in Canada that protects children. Research. Call the police and see what they suggest.

there has to be someone there that can help. go on line and look up the laws there. there has to be something that can help you get custody of this little girl. i don't know much about canada but i bet they would step up to the plate if something happened to the child. make phone calls to social services to see who you can contact on behalf of this child. there has to be someone besides you looking out for this innocent child. best of luck.

You need to get an attorney. You will also have to have documented proof of the danger she is putting her children in so you can prove her unfit as a mother. It is hard to do but it is possible if there is 100% proof on your side.

You need serious legal advice. Not from here. Try free legal councils.
