Because believe it or not, there are some white people out there who are not racists and these racial slurs along with the ones referring to anyone else highly offend them. For instance there is racism within the African-American culture.Dark vs. light and vice-versa.One day some of my friends were having a discussion about Tyra Banks. One of my friends dissed her because of her wide nose and the Caucasian girl who happened to be in our conversation got highly offended. She could not understand why we hate on each other sometimes. That just goes to show you,all whites did not originate such racism, just a few.

it is horrible to be involved in racism because everbody should be considered equal in ti day and age I dont think caucasian people are the majority of the people saying that it is common knowledge of everyone. look I'm caucasian and I can't help what my ancestors did years ago and in no wy am i trying to make up for that now it is just respect not to use foul racist language and to stand up for what you believe in. I personally believe that in this day and age it is the white person who is discriminated against. every body freaks out about the N word but we r called honky whitey and cracker and that a joke...its ok..african americans have bet, naacp, back history month, ***** college scholrships and are more likely to get hired for a job before a caucasian prson with the same education because the businessfears a discrimination law suit. if we had WET white entertainment television we would be considered racist, if there was a white college scholarship it would be discrimination and if we had caucasian apprectiation month well my goodness there would probably be riots in the streets over that so you tell me who is at the butt end of racial slurs...

You mean the ones relating to blacks? It's because they think that if they say, "Oh, no, why would you do that?!" that everything will be okay. Which is wrong. What's worse is when people try to make terms that are "politically correct." Like "African Americans": first of all, not all of them are African, second of all, not all of them are Americans. PC terms are more annoying than insults. And by the way, the term "******" came from "*****" in most Romance languages (meaning "black," the color). English just butchered it.

I would not say "white people" are the originators of racism, it has been around long before Christopher Columbus in fact there is much prejudice based on race and religion in the bible. To answer your question though I would say much of it is out of embarrassment for our past. Many people feel guilty for slavery and the injustices African-Americans faced before the civil rights movement. So people tend to go out of their way to prove they are not racist. I feel that people should be conscious of how they treat all people regardless of race or culture differences, but to treat everyone the same not to go out of your way to prove a point. I should not feel guilty for what my ancestors did no more than you should feel guilty about something yours might have done. I should only worry about how I treat people, and I treat everyone the same.

Maybe some white people are tired of always being called racist or having people assume they are racist for whatever reason. Thats my perspective on it. I am black and live in the deep south and some whites are so apologetic for the silliest reasons so I won't think they are racist. But any way there is only one race the human race and this is all getting so redundant.

You have no proof to support your claim that whites are the "originaors of racism". Racism is not exclusive to any race. It has been around since the beginning of man.
What you are referring to regarding the offended whites are actually bleeding-heart hypocrites. They would only call a black person a "*** ger" behind their backs.

Because racial slurs are stupid, and only come out of the mouths of ignorant people.
