everest ultimate 2007 is the best benchmarking software out there. It's still in beta I believe so you can use it for free. It provides your CPU temp., fan speeds and more.

no not realy a better way to fix this problem is to buy a bigger cpu fan or 2. or if u have a dell have a local pc company move the fan from the back of the pc to on top the processor. (make sure they are large fans but not oversized

It worth it i have a pc i use for gameing all the time. i have about 3 CPU fans and 2 processors. it keeps my pc from overheating. and sometimes i leave it on for weeks and my cpu still dosen't over heat

If you have an Intel Chip set and Intel CPU, you can download a free utility from Intel that will provide the information your looking for, I have it running on 16 Blades and have it setup to email me when any one of the units goes over 160 degrees or the fan speed goes below 5000 rpms.

I'm kinda looking for the same thing. My computer's fan keeps on like making loud noises or starts spinning really fast when my computer is playing a game or whatever. I'm not sure if its just cooling it off because so much cpu is used or what.

You can reset your pc and then look in your computer's BIOS for your CPU temperature. Every pc has a built in hardware monitor. Look up what your normal CPU temperature should be, use google.com for that.

And if you really want a software you could try Hardware Monitor.
