My supervisor laughed out loud at me for making a mistake?

THEN proceeded to yell at me for making the mistake.
Should I quit?

WOW! How rude and embarassing! You have an idiot for a supervisor. Quitting is an option, but do you have another job to go to? Only you can answer the question if you can afford to quit.

Does your supervisor have a boss over him and would this boss be willing to listen to you if you went and complained? Your supervisor needs help with his people skills. You don't laugh at an employee and then proceed to yell at them for the mistake.

Don't quit! If you tell this story later down the road, it'll like you quit everytime the "going gets tough". I don't agree with how she treated you, but don't quit for this reason, specifically. If you've been there for a few months at least and really can't imagine working there much longer, then look for another job WHILE working at this one and then make up some bs reason to quit the current one.... that has nothing to do with her attitude... say you wanted a job where you could increase your skillset and the opportunity with company B is exactly what you're looking for. lol

Does this supervisor have a supervisor?? If so, I suggest going to her/him and explaining how unprofessional it is and what poor management it displays of your supervisor. I believe that employers want to hire management that will help the company move forward, and humiliating and yelling at you is obviously not moving in that direction.

If you can afford to then yes you should quit but its probably better to find another job first before you quit. This boss obviously does not know how to manage effectively and will not be beneficial for your career.

Complain to your boss first of all, or a sympathetic colleague. If they help you sort out the problem, great.

Otherwise, you might want to consider leaving.
