I'm 17 years old. I'm a girl, and I wake up at 6:30 every morning for school. So I usually go to bed at 9:00. At the latest, 10:00 pm. I don't wake up during the night (aside from the occasional toilet trip), and I eat healthy. I don't smoke or drink or anything like that. My mother wakes me up every morning, and as I'm walking to the kitchen to eat, I literally feel like I'm going to drop dead, and I frequently bump into walls and trip over. How can I wake up more pleasantly?

Um, before anyone takes the title the wrong way, I feel like that PHYSICALLY, not mentally.

I would make an apt. with your doc & find out what's going on with you. It would be difficult to figure out without being seen & having some tests run. In the mean time, I would stay hydrated & avoid sodas, especially with caffeine.

You have a busy schedule. Make sure you are eating the right foods and are taking multi vitamins to help . Maybe some Iron supplements and vitamin C .

And before just getting out of bed in the morning .. try deep breathing, stretching and waking up your mind for another busy day ahead of you.

Try going to sleep earlier?? good news is that is gets easier!! ur hormone levels when ur a teenager makes u feel the need to go bed late and sleep all day. thats normal. as for making it easier, try rolling out of bed and onto the floor stretch ur body. moving ur muscles should help things start waking up. Good Luck!!

that sounds a lot like me, except I go to bed a lot later than that. how does your mom wake you, nicely or yelling that you're going to be late (me, lol)? see if waking up to your favorite radio station makes a difference. if you don't already take showers in the morning try that to help wake up.
hope that helps. I wish I could get as much sleep as you do!

wow i was exactly like this in high school...all i can tell you is that it will get better...i'm in college now and a) i don't ever have to get up that early anymore, minus the few exceptions, and b) when i do have to get up early, it's not nearly as bad....
it must just be a hormonal thing...just try to think of something every morning to look forward to..that seemed to help me out a little bit

This might sound stupid, but do you drink enough water? I have found that if I don't and have had a lot of salty food, this can happen - very tipsy and lightheaded upon waking.Try drinking a glass of water before going to bed and see if this helps!

This could have to do with your blood sugar......do you have a snack before bed? You should and make sure it isn't high in sugar or simple carbs. Or it could also be low blood pressure.
