I would try E-bay and see what you can get. buy the best Guitar you can afford. You won't be a beginner forever and soon you will want to spend more money on a better guitar. Might as well get a good one now. I bought an 800$ Charvel Jackson in 1991 and still have it to this day. It still rocks and I still love it dearly. The only reason I ever want another guitar is the body design differences. If you want to rock go with a Low end Jackson. Remember you can always upgrade your pick ups but you can't change a hard tail to a double locking tremelo. The squires suck in my opinion. Before I bought the Charvel I bought one of those. When I got it home I discovered it had cracks it the cut aways and took it back. after getting the refund on it and the hard case I got the Charvel for only a couple of hundred more Hard case included. Go to Sam Ash and the guitar store online they buy in mad bulk and their prices are good.

My son has been playing for a few years now and you really need to know what guitar will suit the kind of music you want to play. This is why some musos have more than one guitar. Soft pick ups etc for blues or crunchy ones more suited to rock or heavy metal etc. They may all look quite similar but they sound so different!

Fender makes an excellent guitar and I think for the price, you are getting a good beginner guitar. When you get good, there is nothing like a Fender Strat. Just make sure it is the Strat made in the USA and not the one made overseas.

i would say its a good way to go, stick with a fender squier or a gibson epiphone, if you spend any less you will get a toy, if you spend more you might waste a lot of money if you dont follow through with lessons and practice,
it also depends on what kind of music you are playing,
fender is good for country, gibson for deep blues,
my opinion is gibson is more versatile than fender but thats just me

been playing for 16 years

I'd start out with an acoustic if I were you; you'll learn to tune better. But Fender is always a good choice. Once you do go for electric, go fo Fender.

playing the guitar is good as long as you stay with it and not give up keep working on your lessons some day you will be real-lie good at it i have been playing it for 12 years now and i still work on my lessons so don't give up hang in there ok.

In all honesty...Squire works fine, but if you want to get the most out of your money head over to www.rondomusic.net. Much better selection in the price range, and better quality.

squiers are quite good for beginners, as they are very easy to play. personally i prefer ibanez guitars becuse they just feel right to me. the cheaper models are just as good (if not better than) as a squier

Just right for a beginner. Move up to an American Strat when you're ready to rock!
