Yankee doodle began as part of repartee between French and Americans before the "French and Indian" war.
It Reads First from the American to the Frenchman:
Frenchy Baboo
lived in a shoe
never got up 'til half past two.
The Frenchmans retort was,
Yankee Doodle went to town
Stuck a feather in his crown
Called him Macaroni.
It was given a tune and more lyrics through the years, going from insult to patriotic song.
Amazing Grace was originally written by John Newton, but I doubt he would recognize all of the present lyrics and tune.
I can't figure Chester.

I think that "Amazing Grace" was originally created by a man was captain of an African slave ship. He finally "saw the light" and wrote a song.
I'm not sure about the other ones. Yankee Doodle had to do with the british Regulars... yeah. Good luck
