Go to cnet.com they have really helpful reviews of electronics, and so if you want to browse phones and get the lowdown that you won't get from the phone store employees, read both the cnet official reviews as well as customer reviews!
CNET also has a buying guide, here is a list of the topics they provide you help with:
Pick a service provider
Carrier basics
Choose a plan
How to pick a phone
10 key features to consider
Phone by personality
6 steps to buying or upgrading your phone
I like my phone, but what else does it do?
See our expanded carrier chart
I put the link below in the sources section with the link for you to go to this page, write me back if you have problems

I have a Sony Ericsson Z520a. I love it. I bought it from a cingular store. I didn't buy it from the cingular store in the mall. The mall is usually alot more expensive. I bought it, i don't have a 2 year contract. I am using GOphone. I like Gophone because if you don't use the phone, you don't pay for that day. The only problem is that the phone used to be $125 when i bought it. now it is alot more expencive. You can check out this site. it is a site that has the best deals on stuff. the ocasionally get phones. i bought a razr that was unlocked, for 100 bucks. www.slickdeals.net
