We are. But insurgents don't fight wars. They hide in houses and alleys, and jump out to strike their victims, which many times are their own fellow citizens. They are cowards, and hide behind a shroud of secrecy. They let their explosives do the talking while they jump the border into another neighboring country, living to fight another day.

America is the best, and will always be the best.
That's my opinion, and I proudly support my country.

First you have asked a loaded question?
There are so many factions of fighting involved in this current war, that no one really knows which faction is going to strike first and how bad, and they the retaliation battles begin and continue until the next big strike. First off we should have not gone into Iraq for the reason's we did, and the government that the USA and some of our allies want will not work this is an Arabic country with its history going much further back than our own.
The United States Armed Forces have been sent in with out enough safety equipment, bad battle plans and not enough troops to replace the ones that are already their. Along with Iraq 's neighbor's trying to add their take and surge against each other. Many of our top ranked generals have left due to problems with former defense Sec. Rumsfeild, but also with Vice President and President. They have created their versions on what this war should be and none of them can agree on that, even. So many young Americana's are not joining the armed services, because they along with me don't see this as a good Idea.

We have the potential to be the best, and succeed at this war, but our military has it's hands tied by the "failure faction" that wail and scream whenever civilians are hurt and even killed. It's extremely difficult to kick terrorist asses when the defeatist left wont allow it. The bad guys hide among women and children, and couldn't care less if their own innocent are killed as long as their own cowardly asses are saved from harm.
Our countries military have been reduced to being nothing more than traffic cops by our own enemy within. The Leftists will be the demise of the United States of America as we know it if they are allowed to continue their path of making America the bad guy of the planet.
See it, believe it, do something about it, unless you all want America to succumb to their defeatist agenda.

In Greek mythology there is a creature called the Hydra. Where the champion cuts of one of its heads. Two heads grow from that wound. What do you suppose happened? We have how many heads with sharp dangerous teeth looking back at us?
Even the best can get awful tired during that kind of struggle.

I had to come badck and say one more thing. What made the US a superpower was not in the use of its military against every Tom, Dick and Harry that stood up and worshipped his failing phallus.

Every country is best at something...But if the U.S. wishes to really win "hearts and minds" as the president said earlier perhaps it should look at China and its relationship with African nations and neighbors. China is winning hearts and minds throughout Asia and Africa not because of its goliath economic raise or by bombing countries back to the stone age. Or using false pretexts to destroy its neighbors or allies. Apart from being a developing nation and dragging resources from other countries, China is also giving back by helping some of the poorest countries in the world with infrastructure, aid, bank loans, business ventures and diplomatic relations. If China continues to do so, the U.S. will find it difficult to out do China. Yes Chinese officials have self interest, China is a dictatorship and we don't need to hear how long Beijing's human rights record is....They also remember to give back to the people they help and promote relations between their neighbors and distant counterparts...
The point is bombings, wars and lying to the world than expecting them to not criticize you for your human tragedies in Iraq and Afghanistan is not going to improve your image as "the best" or an upholder of Democracy.
It's a wonder that China practices such constraint toward other nations when in the U.S. we always hear, "Chinese officials oppress Tibetians, jail journalists, etc." Yet Beijing's path to winning hears and minds might be something for the U.S. to reconsider and learn from.

I don't think we are struggling in the war. I think it has become a political football used by unprincipled politicians here in the U.S. The Democrats are invested in the defeat of our troops in the field and the failure of our attempt to help the Iraqis establish a stable government.

That is why they attempt to undermine the war effort while saying they are supporting the troops. I believe this will all back fire on them in the end. When people realise that in undermining our effort to create stable governments in Iraq and Afgahnistan they are serving the purposes of our enemies "the Terrorist".

At the risk of those nasty thumbs down, we're struggling at war and continue to have wars because we assume that what we feel should be felt by people in all countries. We look at things only from our point of view. The freedom of thought and speech that we treasure should extend to all citizens of the world.

AND YES, I AM THE PROUDEST OF AMERICANS AND WOULDN'T WANT TO LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE!

We are trying to fight a politically correct war where we don't offend anyone, including the enemy. It's like fighting blind, with one arm tied behind your back, and your feet shackled together.

True we are the best but it's the politicians that can't decide what to do making our army weak
