Sorry. I'm kinda biased. God made Adam and Eve, Not Adam and Steve. To each his own, but marriage is the key to procreation.

Never, and I only say this after the last election in which states actually voted to amend state constitutions defining marriage. I cannot believe the ignorance in people, but the ignorant are fighting and they for now are still the majority in the 'bible belt'. Our only chance is to continue to push for change and VOTE for the issues when they are on ballot. .
Same sex unions are not the same by meaning and requiring such unions to use a separate term is discriminatory.
Healthcare, legal contracts and survivor benefits all need that word 'marriage' for the best protection. Last I checked,GLBT people were all human and humans should have equal rights.

It is not up to Evangelical America. Why should we bestow that power upon them? Nothing is going to change unless people who believe in a cause make it change. By the way not all people who live in the so called "bible belt" are bigots. Some are very open minded. It is just sad that they live in such a oppressive section of the country.

Evangelical America? Sex is any slidden societies god. Fornication plus execution equals abortion. We do not know, or seem to know what marriage was created for. I watch network tv until it insults me intellectually or spiritually. In other words 2-3 minutes a week. At least I used to. Gay marriage, even between sincere couples, hits me wrong. I still do not know if there are sincere gays that want in churches to worship or to bring down the church. Gets confusing but I am against anything God's word calls sin.

I wish I could give a definitive yes... but I just don't see it happening, at least not anytime soon. I think we have a long hard fight in front of us, the religious right is going to fight us every step of the way. We have to remember though - while Christians were the founders of this nation, they founded it on the principal of freedom.
I think this is a fight that we can win, it certainly won't be easy, but if the LGBT community binds together and fights as one solid force this is a definite possibility. No more squabbling amoungst ourselves... if we want to get this done we have to do it together.

Homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. Churches which condone the practice of homosexuality will burn in the fire of damnation forever and ever.
By the way, it's interesting that you compartmentalize Bible-believing Christians like this:
-social conservatives
-Americans
-right wingers
-residents of the Bible belt
You would really be funny if you weren't so sad.

It's not up to us it's up to the state and federal governments. However if we disagree with it we have the right to voice our opinion. That's how a democracy works.
