OK, here's how it would go. I've read the comics for years, and am also a big fan of the movie. So, here goes.
First of all, in the comics, John wasn't much of a fighter against people. He'd usually try to con his way out of any physical confrontation (Hence his nickname Con-Job Constantine) and if he HAS to fight he usually has his *** handed to him. Enter Chas. Chas has bailed John out of more *** kickings over the years than I can count. Be it with crowbars, shovels or just the old one-two, Chas is the man.
Now in the movie, sure Keanu whups *** with his brass knuckles, but it's more the symbols than his muscles doing the damage.
So, in the end, I say comic John would win, only because Chas would whip ***. Even if you went Movie Chas versus Comic Chas, comics would win. I hope I helped.
