Of course, the obvious, LOVE. Also, though, the idea of marriage can be appealing if the other person is compatible to your personality. If you're ever lucky enough to meet someone who you feel like you've known forever, has the same opinions about money, raising kids, religion, and working, and the two of you can LAUGH together, that would be someone you should consider marrying, as those people usually only come by once in a lifetime.

Companionship - you find a real friend that you enjoy spending time with and want to continue doing so forever.
Parenting - when you find someone you would want your daughter or son to be like.
Sexual compatibility - when you find someone that is sympatico with your wishes/desires in this area; though it is hard to tell because having premarital sex often clouds the issues.
Religious beliefs - when you find someone who shares both parenting and religious beliefs with you...these two topics with determine the success of a marriage more than anything else; then political beliefs then sexual compatibility.
When you find that ethereal connection (love?) that makes you not want to go on without the other person; even though would if you had to.
Hope this helps! I certainly don't know 'the answer(s)' for this one as I am still searching myself(...and I'm 37).
AND A GOOD REASON IS GO GET SUPPORT ALL OF THE PERSON NEEDS SUPPPORST FOR THEIR LIFE .Marriage is like apart of a life.It make u realize that ther's someone who love u who helps u in eevrything.

you've got the definition of love mixed up. to love someone, you need to trust that person, be kind, considerate, honest, selfless, patient, understanding, faithful, committed, forgiving, loving, etc. (all the virtues of character are connected with love). so the reason a marriage survives is when two people are mature, focus on each others strengths, and focuses on building up his/her character first and not trying to "change" his/her partner :) acceptance is a strong point too... with solid character, a couple can go through ups and downs together :D
tough work, seriously...

1)love will always be the main reason
2)u cannot live without her
3)u are matured enough to compare and TAKE ACTION on what is right and wrong..compare is one of the main point but u must be able to take action on it..not just acknowledge it but ready to act on it..
4)ready on accepting everything about her...remember,no one is perfect and so are u,so accept her incompleteness and appreciate her speciality.
4)ready to take the responsibility on managing a family..its not about one or two days but its about the rest of your life.
5)u are able...have the ability..both body and soul..able on bed and able to complete the incomplete between a man and a woman..
6)you are ready to get into the new life or a new stage...
GOOD LUCK...

I cannot think of any GOOD reasons to marry a chick these days. There is no need to ruin something good with marriage.

support. you're agreeing to a contract that says you will be there for the person forever. I know that a lot of people break this, but it still means something to me.
there's also a Bible verse that says something like "it's better to marry then to burn."

You are not alone. I mean that literally. There is someone for you to share everything with... and it is different than having a mom or brothers and sisters.

You've studied her attitude and her character, you enjoy her company, you've known each other at least a couple of years, and she's gonna leave if you don't marry her.
