That happened to me, too. I have heard taking biotin and/or vitamin E helps. It seemed like I was losing tons of hair, but when it was all said and done, my hair just went back to the way it was before. I also had my baby in the winter and I definitely don't think that helps. Good luck!

Everyone loses hair a little at a time--every day--so new hair can grow in its place. When you are pregnant, your hormones prevent you from losing that hair. So, after you have the baby, your hormones catch up with you and it all falls out at the same time. It's not forever--it does grow back. It just sucks for a while.

It's because your hair thickens when you're pregnant and then falls out after the hormones are gone, I was happy to lose hair because I have so much. I don't know how to stop it though.

Its completely normal. You lose all the extra hair you grew during pregnancy while taking all the prenatal vitamins and such. It has alot to do with estrogen... check out this website... http://babyparenting.about.com/od/postpartum/f/pphairloss.htm

Partly due to having a baby as your body adjusts...and you may need to get your thyroid levels checked to be sure... I was dx w/ hypothyroid after his birth.. and its just one pill a day
