if you are unfamiliar with ebay, then you should NOT be sending checks.

ALWAYS pay through PAYPAL with a CREDIT CARD!

it is the best protection. if anything goes wrong, you can file for a CHARGEBACK with the CC company.

BTW, what type of item are you buying?

Did you read the ad before bidding?did it state you could pay with a check?if so .put the owners name on the check and include the amount for shipping. If the ad does not state what the shipping will be,ask the seller what the shipping will be..do this before you win.Don't wait, sellers like their money right away. And with checks, you have to wait 10-14 business days for your check to clear and god hopes it doesn't bounce-it could cost you $15.00-$35.00 for non sufficient checks, you will be better off paying by cert. check or m.o..do it right, you do not want a negative.others will know that you write bad checks..
Good Luck,Ebay is fun!

First see if he accept checks by emailing him and asking Then you send him the check for the total amount + whatever he wants for shipping. The info should be in the auction.

Why dont you just paypal it? Paypal can take money directly from your bank account, or you can pay with your credit card.

Hi there

The seller should send you can invoice for the amount owed for the item. Here, you need to specify that you wish to pay by cheque and the address will be given for you to send it. Include the charge for postage on the cheque. The amount required for postage should be clearly displayed on the invoice.
