At the High School Level ~~~In some schools they are the social group that keeps the school motivated game day or a major event on campus.
They do some volunteer at the elementary schools for child care at PTA meetings
Over all a good thing

Why does everyone think that we're just trashy whores?
I was a cheerleader and I think everyone was really nice. I went to law school, and a lot of the other girls went to really good schools and studied Med, Law and Business so we can't all be THAT stupid.

I was a Cheerleader in High School...& I tell you...the impression everyone had of us...was NOT the way we really were...ok..so some of us were....but not all of us...

In all honesty, I think that high school chearleaders are portrayed as ditzy and very materialistic, but I have never personally known one, so I don't know what they are REALLY like on the inside.

I find them annoying and not very useful, but I guess if my daughters were into that kind of thing I would support them. Thank God they are not, so far.
