If the Fabian Society were around today, would they look at a country that integrates socialism and capitalism, like the U.S.A., and say, "There's still a lot of work to be done" or did they expect that a "happy median" could be found? Is the Fabian Society's method still a valid way for socialists today to pursue their goal? Would the U.S. benefit more from a Fabian perspective being taken, or would it benefit from a gradual decline in socialism?

Please keep the answers civilized (No personal attacks like saying that capitalists are pigs or that socialists should leave America). I simply want to know some intelligent opinions on the matter.

Yes, basically the Fabian society is one of the ways to introduce socialism in a rather capitalistic society.
The key is that Fabianism relies on the right wing buying into it, which ultimately will be a way to suceed rather than for the left wing just to strengthen to fight the right wing.
