I dont it before! I didnt get infected...I took a cube of ice and held it to my ear for a long time and right after I took it off I stuck a pin in it and pushed it through slowly so it wouldnt hurt. Afterwards I put neosporin all over it, front and back, and put and earring in. All set. And every morning took out the earring put some peroxide on it and neosporin and put the earring back in. Did it every morning for about a month. The wrong way is to let it get dirty and not treating it.

How long does it take for you to heal a cut on your finger, for example? Do your cuts/scrapes usually get infected? Can you really commit to cleaning your ear MORE than normal for the first 2 weeks? If so, do it. My sister is 17 and has pierced her ears so many times. Just make sure you take care of it. Good Luck!

This is one of those times where DIY do it yourself is not the best option. Have someone who is professionally trained and well aware is there are any risks perform the piercing. Remember, if something happens or it fails, there is no one there to assist you. It's better to be on the cautious side of things, than to be your own Macguyver.

It's so cheap and quick to let a pro do it. It's not worth the stress and pain of doing it on your own.

Don't do it yourself, I have heard too many piercing disasters from people who decided to do it themselves. Get a professional to do it.
