My girlfriend and I had sex without a condom a month after she started taking the pill. She's recently started to feel nauseated. Is her body still adjusting to the pill and that's what's causing her to feel sick or should she take a pregnancy test to be safe?

If she takes a pregnancy test will it be accurate since it's only been two weeks since we had the unprotected sex?

She should take a test just to make sure b/c no other way will tell for certain. An early results pregnancy test (like First Response) may be able to tell if she's pregnant a few days before her period is even due! However, if the result is negative & she does not get her normal period then she should test again b/c it may have still been too early to test. (the hormone HCG takes a while to build up and it is different for everyone so it's uncertain as to what the first day a test would result in a positive is. Testing with first morning urine is a good idea.) The pill should not affect the result/accuracy of the pregnancy test b/c it doesn' t contain any HCG. It is very hard to say what exactly is causing the symptoms without testing.

There is always a chance she could get pregnant. The pill isn't 100% effective no matter how long she's been taking it. The nausea could be something else but if it's been 2 weeks a test could come up positive if she is. But it could take another week. I suggest buying a two pack, taking one now and if it's negative wait 5 more days or so and take the other one. I have researched a lot of pregnancy tests, a cheap one that will pick up the earliest ( way before a lot of the popular brands ) is the CVS Pharmacy brand that tests midstream. FYI - you can get a false negative but NOT a false positive.

She should not be pregnant if she remembered to take her pills on time each day, didn't throw up any pills, and hasn't been on any antibiotics. But you can always do a home pregnancy test to be sure. Now would be about the right time to test. Her nausea could very well be just her adjustment to the pill.

Well, any form of birth control is never 100% effective, no matter what. You get better protection if you use multiple forms, but even that is still not guaranteed, so yes, she could be pregnant. Some pregnancy tests work up to 5 days before her missed period, but they are more accurate closer to the date of her missed period (even better afterwards).
You can also get nauseous when you first start the pill, so it could be that.
Ultimately, I would wait and see if she misses her period before you take a pregnancy test (maybe even a few days after her missed period).

Ok, if she was on the pill and sje suddenly stopped, then yes her hormones will be out of whack a bit, but, your body doesn't feel nauseated from stopping the pill or at least it hasn't happened to me. You would generally expect to ovulate, which means you can get pregnant, 12-14 days after your last period, so she can go by that on whether or not to take a test.

She should definitely take the pregnancy test! Even taking the pill is not 100% protection against unwanted pregnancy. It is very effective, but not 100%. (See drug facts sheet.)
If the test is positive, you can be sure that she is pregnant. Positive results usually never lie. If its negative there is still a chance that she is pregnant. If you want to be sure have her see her doctor. Tests at the OB/GYN office are the most dependable.
Good luck

BIrth control is not 100% - no matter if she is on the pill or not. She should take a pregnancy test, but even so - she should still think seriously about seeing a doctor for a blood test to check for pregnancy. Nausea can occur from birth control, or pregnancy.

Take the test to be sure.It is an accurate way to find out. If still in doubt get her to her Dr.
If she didn't take her pills right she could be pregnant-nothing is 100%-nothing.
Good luck-use something if she isn't next time-for both of you
