First of all, I don't see anything wrong with having Andrew Jackson on the $20 bill. Old Hickory was loved and respected by a lot of people during his time. I think Lincoln would be a better candidate for replacement on the $5, but to answer your question....
Sam Houston served as Representative of Tennessee, Governor of Tennessee, President of Texas, and Governor of Texas. He was a friend of the Cherokee Indians and against the Civil War.

Teddy Roosevelt was a War Hero, Secretary of War, President of the USA, and led an expedition to discover and map an unexplored river in Brazil.

Assorted Military War Heroes sort of like the idea behind the state quarters. Some examples: Jimmy Doolittle, Douglas MacArthur, Jack Pershing, or Curtis LeMay.

If the politically correct crowd demands it's a woman, there is none more deserving or better than Mary Goddard since the bills have founding Fathers and Presidents, and people who are important in the origins of the country - Mary Goddard - is the best choice of all for her work relating to the Deceleration of Independence.

And that is a serious answer rather than political or popular interest social answer.

Mary Katherine Goddard (June 16, 1738 – August 12, 1816) was an early American publisher and the first American postmaster. She was the first to print the Declaration of Independence with the names of the signatories.

I agree that Reagan would be a great choice. He did end the Cold War and in doing so made the world a much safer place for the 1990's. He also was instrumental in lifting the spirits of Americans after the issues of the 1970's.

I don't think the U.S. should stray from the general policy of only having former Presidents and extremely important patriots, such as Benjamin Franklin, on our currency.

Ronald Reagan did what no one could even have conceived of: in the words of Margaret Thatcher, he "won the Cold War without firing a shot". Can you imagine if some writer went to Hollywood in 1980 and tried to pitch this movie idea: "A former actor becomes President of the United States and forces the USSR to implode and disintegrate." They would have laughed him out of the office, but that is exactly what Reagan did. His strategy worked perfectly: he simply bankrupted them, and demoralized them to a point where they saw it was futile to continue.

It's nice they have named bridges and aircraft carriers after Reagan, but let's put his famous smiling face on our $20 bill.

It's the least we can do for the man who ended the Cold War.

If Reagan is on it, i will never use a 20 again. I hate to sound "ignorant" but he is an over blown president that only reinvigorated the Republican party after Nixon nearly killed it. Jackson should stay on it, but a replacement should be Madison or FDR

i think you should just leave it alone after all these years. it was put their for a reason. so why change history now. why not just start printing a new denomination with a new picture. the govt . prints every thing now so it shouldent make a difference. oh yes it would probably cost us something it always does. how about putting god's picture on it as we know him. remember .in god we trust. or maybe just the american flag. that would be good. just saying .have a good day

I don't see why you want to change it, but if you must the only person who deserves the honor is FDR. He saved America from the Great Depression and faced down Nazi Germany.

FDR, because he got the county through the great depression and world war two, though great personal sacrifice.

I have no objection to Reagan, except that it's too soon.
