I think they wont be answering your question. And they shouldn't have the right to vote because they don't know whats going on.

I think it's very restrictive. The practise that I don't agree with is when they boot out their teenagers into the world for a year of indulgence and partying and then the teenager needs to decide whether they come back home or not.
So it's either, live a normal life without your family, or live in a prison state with your family. That's messed up.
And these kids are given all this money and are absolutely unprepared to deal with the world and all it's temptations. I've read a lot about it and the kids say that it's a year of drinking, drugs and sex. Basically a full year of debauchery, and then making the decision about whether to return to the flock is so hard.
Everything else is cool, but I think that depriving people of information restricts their choices.

Thats there way of life. We have no right to say anything about how they live. Live and let live! They dont harm anyone and so what if it seems odd, im sure some people think we're odd. What about the tribes in remote areas, should we yank them into this century? NO, absolutely not! We need those cultures and all there interesting history. This would be a boring land without all the diversity.

If they accept today's world they are banished from their sect.
I think they need to be left alone and let them live their live whatever way they choose. They have been living like this for so many decades...it is their way of life. How would you do if you were talked into changing your ways to the Amish ways? Would you want to ?

Hello, I live in Amish country in upstate NY. I don't mind them at all. Some of them are very friendly. I don't see them much or learn their way of life. Seems like they don't bother anyone so whatever they believe in is fine with me.

Personally I think They r brave
can u imagine how hard life
would be with out everything
we take for granite. I have no idea
how to sew my own clothes, or make
the fabric. cook from scratch, I don't mean just buying the
ingredients from the store. I mean goin out on the farm
and picking, preparing ect ect....

They make great furniture, but they drive to slow.
Even though, we dis-agree with thier behaviors, that is what they are use to, and probably do not know the difference. You pick up your traits from your parents.
Hey, we could probably bash the Amish here since they can not read it because they should not be on the internet

Heck no, they shouldn't conform to the modern world! Imagine if we all stayed as close to God and family like they do? Do u remember their immediate reaction to the slaying of their lil girls? They instantly forgave the killer. How awesome if the whole world could live like they do! Just MHO.

I think they should do whatever they feel like. But i think that not using all the technology we have is a little foolish, after all it was God who blessed us with all these inventions.
