The polls always seem to say that it's really low. But if that were they case, he'd be empeached by now. I don't believe it. I think a lot of Americans still support him, as always. (People are dumb).

Polls can be made to show whatever the poller wishes. It is a matter of how you phrase the question and to whom you ask. Most pollsters won't come here and ask those slanted questions, they write us off and disount us as being stupid rednecks who won't give them what they "Know" to be "fact." They live in a flawed, fantasy world. An alternate paradigm from reality.
Here are a few savory facts for the lib.s to chew on a while...
During his time in office, Abraham Lincoln was extremely hated. To the point that he found it necessary to institute the Sedition Act, just to recruit men enough to continue the war. Lincoln too, was a Republican. Most democrats were against the war, against ending "the pecular institution" (AKA slavery) and because the war also had a great deal to do with state's rights VS federal, didn't mind the thought of seeing the union of these United States fall apart. So why is it now that the liberal democrats are so self-righteous, calling themselves "True Patriots," and so many minorities support the very organization that fought to keep them enslaved?
And the one fact that I REALLY love, is that even the liberal CNN Headline News found it couldn't avoid publishing the comments made by the leader of al Qaeda in Iraq as well as the "president" of Iran -- they said: "The American people are to be commended for having voted in the democrats." in the November elections. Speaks volumes doesn't it?
Bush's approval ratings? The economy is doing great, unemployment is at an all time low, we're fighting a two front war and our losses are at record setting lows. Hell, Patton's 3 Army in '44, lost on average 83 men a day -- this, fighting a uniformed, easily identifiable enemy who didn't hide behind the skirts of women and diapers of babies, as do our current enemies. We're losing almost 3 men a day. Not bad for two wars going on at the same time! When judged through the microscope of history, Bush will come out smelling like a rose, as did Lincoln. The pollters are full of themselves and sh-t (one and the same).

Bush's approval rating matters about NOTHING. He is still President for almost 2 more years and he is NOT running for anything. So what does approval ratings mean to him? Nothing.
I am sure that it matters to Republican candidates who plan to run for something in 08, but not much.
Impeachment is NOT for ratings, it is for crimes. Google Clinton and Crimes! The President has done several things which I think are dumb or wrong, but he is still the President. I just keep hoping that he will eventually get some help or get lucky.

Yes, I think a large majority think he hasn't done as good a job as he might have. No, he hasn't done anything impeachable. A lot of Americans also don't see any perfect alternative and if given an essay response to pollsters (an obvious impossibility) would express varying degrees of tolerance understanding that he's had very tough choices to make and it's likely anybody in his shoes would also have made lots of mistakes in such a volatile situation.

You didn't specify who "they" is. But I think the consistency of polls (over time, over methodology, over sponsoring institution) suggests that he rests right around 32%. Because we have Senate elections every six years, there are not enough votes to impeach him there at this time (partly because of GOP party loyalty even if articles of impeachment were drawn up). This makes impeachment unlikely (besides, NO one wantes President Cheney!). But there is a core of supporters that will not abandon Bush. Coincidentally (?), that number is fairly consistent with the percentage of people that believe the rapture will happen within their lifetime.

Here we go again, cons proclaiming polls are garbage. How is it the 2006 elections were predicted with such accuracy? How is it only Fox showed Kerry would win in 2004? How is it cons are so divorced from reality?

Actually polls are garbage!
Look at how the polls showed that Kerry was winning!

They're lying to save face for him. It's actually lower. Still, some people are REALLY dumb and kiss his feet.

It's a liberally-slanted poll conducted by the liberal media in downtown New York City, which is predominatly liberal.
