victoria rowell;why is she leaving Y & R?

In Soap Opera Digest's interview with her, the magazine states that Victoria Rowell (Drucilla, Y&R) is leaving the soap world and will aggressively promote her about-to-be released book, The Women Who Raised Me: A Memoir. She comments that costars asked her not to leave permanently and suggested a leave of absence instead, but she felt she has a responsibility to her literary career and wants to focus on that.

She's been asked to play Drucilla in an over the top manner only to receive zero Emmy nominations in return. The new team at Y&R inflicted these story lines on Victoria and she has played them very well BUT there is more to life than playing an executive's psycho wife. Rumors have her appearing on Bold and the Beautiful down the road but she has the right to try other things in her career and she's been pretty good at what she's down before. I see her taking up to a year but she'll be back on Y&R.
