I own a transmission shop, and can give you this information. The transmission out of the 2.2 is a Borg-Warner T-5. The V-6 engines all used the New Venture Gear 3500 transmission. As anyone may know, one could shoe horn anything into about anything, and with an adapter plate, "make it work". The problem is not so much will it work, but is it economically reasonable to do? I don't think the bell housing off the 2.2 will bolt to the 4.3, and would require an adapter plate. By moving the location of the clutch release assembly, this would cause many problems, and would require some fabrication skills. The best advice I could offer you, is to forget the transmission out of the 2.2, and find a good one out of a 4.3 to go in it.
Glad to help out, Good Luck!!!

Most Likely not.
Take the #'s off the S10 and the Engine Blobk and Trans block go to a Chevy Dealer and find out. You can ask for a blue print how the placement needs to befor the Drive Shaft.

Sounds like the Belhousing will not line up to the engine and also may not line up properly with the Trans mounts.
