Billy Murphy is the only Louisiana born player named Bill to play in MLB in the 1960s.

Are you referring to Billy Williams? The former Cub and Athletic player? Who coincidentally was a coach with both teams after his playing career concluded?

Could only find this guy Bill "Lefty" Perrin, but he played in the the 1930s....
