Peking Man was probably an Asian version of Homo erectus. We don't know whether there was gene flow from Asia back to Africa from fellows like Peking Man. If there wasn't, then we would consider him an "also ran" and not in the direct lineage of modern Homo sapiens sapiens.

Opinion: Doing a Creationism paper for Biology? You might consider a slightly different slant for the introduction to your report. These fossils are of reputed and alleged old ancestral forms... but even if they're not ancestral forms, this doesn't present direct evidence for Creation. Repeat: refuting evolution is not the same as having direct evidence of Biblical Creation. If you don't have direct evidence for Biblical Creation, leave Creation out of your report for your science class.

Peking is not a hoax, many specimens have been recovered over the years. The arugument advanced by creationists 50 years ago was that he was a monkey or ape, and not really a humanid. Peking is way too big to be a monkey and had a brain larger than any known ape. About the only evidence given was since the many skulls were fragmentary, they must have been eaten, presumably by "real" men like us. Recent work shows rather Peking is strikingly similar when reconstructed to Homo Erectus, unarguably a human pre-cursor. Very few serious creationists challenge Peking man these days.

Nothing - Peking (Beijing) Man, when he was alive, was Homo erectus.

You're probably thinking of Piltdown man, who was a huge hoax.

Anyway, just a refresher: evolution does not say man is descended from monkeys OR apes. Evolution says that monkeys and apes (including man) had a common ancestor long ago. Then it says that man and ape split from a common ancestor slightly less long ago.

Nothing " wrong " with Peking man ( now Beijing man ). A example of Homo erectus.
